Comment:I suspect this is the wife of Archibald Cox, the Watergate Special Prosecutor and Harvard professor. Archie married Phyllis Ames (who became Phyllis Cox) in 1937.

Comment:Phyllis (Byrne) was the wife of portrait painter Gardner Cox (1906-1988). She was a supporter of many music organizations in the Boston/Cambridge area as well as a supporter of civil rights causes. She and Gardner were probably separated at the time of the "enemy list."
